The Metropol has 35 two-bedroom/two-bath units and 6 one-bedroom/one-bath units as well as a fitness center, reading room, and subterranean parking.
Just a short distance from Hollywood and Vine, the hub of the old-is-new Hollywood, Metropol is centrally located, close to freeways and access to the Westside, San Fernando Valley, Los Feliz, Silver-Lake/Echo Park and Downtown.

Units surround a nicely-landscaped central courtyard. The design incorporates many environmental features including dual-glazed windows, energy star appliances, a "bio-filter" for rainwater and construction heavily reliant on "earth born" materials.

This 1,240 sq ft forth floor unit (#411) priced at $650,000 ($524/sq ft) shows off the white oak flooring and large aluminum frame windows. The living-kitchen area is open and views are quite excellent.

The kitchens include custom European cabinetry, black granite countertops and stainless steel GE appliances.

Bedrooms are carpeted and some have balconies.

Bathrooms have separate tubs, modern chrome-plated European fixtures and polished Carrera marble.

Carlton Way is in a transitional neighborhood east of Gower, between Sunset and Hollywood that includes condos (notably 6038 Carlton, that sold out last year), large multifamily properties, 1910's/20's 2 - 4 unit buildings, and the occasional Craftsman bungalow. Fully gentrified it is not.
But Carlton Way is only a short distance away from the
W Hollywood Residences, the priciest development between the
Ritz Carlton at LA Live Downtown and the
Century in Century City. It may not be long before the whole block looks and feels as smart and new as the Metropol.
These are great units that should find happy buyers.
