Having your own property is essential at some point in everyone’s lives. Aside from the fact that owning property is a wise investment, it’s also beneficial for the future generations in your family. Advantages of a small house:

  • Saving money - living in a small house means lower power bills to pay, lower tax bills, and lower insurance premium.
  • Less maintenance - you can even save up by fixing and maintaining the house on your own.
  • Easier and quicker to clean - you can have more time to relax and do other things after cleaning.
  • Encouraged simplified living - this means dealing with less water consumption, less use of power, and less waste.
  • Space is utility - simple home decorations.

Disadvantages of a small house:

  • Planning is required - If your previous home was bigger, then you have to donate or discard some of the unnecessary decorations from your previous house. There is no room for unnecessary items in your house. Just think, where would you be placing your stuff?
  • Creative decorations - with the small available space for decorations, you have to make your house look simple yet beautiful. Some or not most of your favorite decorations would not be put on your walls or so.
  • Storage issues - you might want to take in what you need and give up the unnecessary stuff that fills even a small portion of your house because it would just start with a box and will soon be piled up with another.
  • Maintaining Privacy - since the area is small enough for kids to walk around the house, others might be able to see you doing what wild humans do only in night time so be careful and try to add up curtains.

Suggestions:

  • Utilizing space - you can put some of your storage stuff over the cabinet or under your bed.
  • Useful furniture - you would need to find very useful pieces of furniture that would serve as an all in one purpose such as a desk that would also keep books and other files and can store some files.
  • Respect privacy - have decorative screen and protective door knobs for your privacy and personal space.
  • Utilize outdoor area - extend your home with an outdoor living porch or deck. We all need to go out and smell that fresh air breeze.

Conclusion:

Living in a small home helps you save money, requires less physical work, simplifies your life, allows you to have lots of activities outdoor and pursue more interests.
