The village of Dolton is located approximately 17 miles south of the Chicago "Loop" in suburban Cook County. The population was 25,614 at the 2000 census. The village has a total area of 4.7 square miles.
Dolton is bordered by Chicago to the north; South Holland to the south; Harvey and Riverdale to the west; and Calumet City to the east.

To recap 2007 for detached homes, sales volume was down -32.25%, average sales prices are considered stable with only a -0.40% decline, and the days on the market were up +15.461%. This market is oversupplied and the 318 active listings have already been on the market an average of 168 days.
