Top 5 Reasons Why Some Houses Don’t Sell as Quickly as Others

There are a lot of people selling their houses in the internet and there are reasons why some houses don’t sell as quickly as the others. So I have here the top 5 reasons why a good house can perform like a bad house in the internet.

5. “Seller’s Compromise”

Most buyers would prefer a move-in situation when choosing a house to buy. It doesn’t mean that if you got used to that broken wall plate or that testy toilet flush, doesn’t mean that the buyer should also learn to live with it.

The best solution here is to find a realtor that would understand this and would figure out a workaround in price and market around those problems and be able to eliminate as much of the negatives as possible.

4. The Curb Appeal

Yard signs are used as tools by buyers in searching for houses to buy. The National Association of Realtors identified 63% of buyers like to drive-by and look around houses for sale.
So you might want to check if the grass has been cut or those trash bins are out of the way to make a good impression for drive-by buyers. We don’t want to make a poor curb appeal and end up with fewer appointments.

3. Dirty House = No Buyer

Don’t get confused here – clutter and messy is different from the house needing heavy repair and tons of disinfectant.
People can get pass the old car in the garage, toys scattered all over the lawn and furniture that’s not in tune with each other but not a dirty dilapidated home.

2. Poor Presentation in the Internet

Need I say more? Every house has their own good spot. Find it and take a good shot at it. Don’t show the bad angles. If you need to show each part of the house – find the best angle and make sure to clean up before taking the shot.

1. Poor Location

This one is the trickiest – no matter how nice a house is but if it’s located in a bad spot of the town, it’s going to take a long time to sell.

The good news is there would always be a certain part of the world’s population that would find what a bad spot for you, to be a good one. Research, think about where and how to find these people and focus your market there.
